We are thrilled to announce that Wishbone is currently devising our next show about the trials of Laura Fair. Based on a true story, Laura Fail shot and killed her married lover, Alexander Crittenden, on November 3, 1871 on board the El Capitain in San Francisco. Laura and Alexander's narratives shifted and changed over time to reveal the complexity of motivation behind every action including shooting and killing someone in broad daylight. In this melodramatic time filled with enormous expectation of the female, Laura would rather die than have her reputation tarnished. As we go through the records of this story, we hope to unravel as much of the true narrative that still exists. We'll be sure to keep you posted on our progress and give you more glimpses into this woman, vile in disposition, bloody in thought...Laura Fair.
